The opportunity to join our team

This role supports the RSEL Boards and Chief Member Officer in oversighting related party Service Providers on an arm’s length basis and in the best interests of members, and as the first line conflict of interest risk mitigant for the Trustees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic insights and reporting to the RSEL Boards on the exposure to, and performance of, Service Providers and the operational risk profile of the RSELs.
  • Provide independent assessment and summary reporting to the RSEL Boards from outcomes self-reported by the Service Providers, including escalation of performance issues to the RSEL Boards and where relevant, challenging and influencing Service Providers for the benefit of the RSEL’s members and beneficiaries. Insights to include trends, capacity and capability including ability to meet Trustees’ adequacy of resources requirements.
  • Portfolio business lead, in conjunction with legal, in related party contract negotiations on behalf of the RSEL contracting entities.
  • Portfolio lead for quarterly and annual assessment of Service Providers including oversight and challenge of administration and operations including technology and data.
  • Provide independent strategic and technical advice to RSEL Directors, including monitoring and assessing the impact of regulatory/business change on the superannuation business.
  • Enhance operational efficiency to improve member experience and/or support the RSEL Boards to focus on strategic and matters reserved for the RSEL Boards.
  • Support the Chief Member Officer and act as a delegate, when required.
  • Advocate the fiduciary role of the RSELs inside Insignia, acting in the interest of members and being an independent advocate for the RSEL Directors in the management and identification of conflicts of interest.

 

What you will bring

  • Strong executive communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to navigate environments undergoing significant change.
  • Strong relationship building, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in managing a team in the delivery of a range of professional services.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff with a focus on stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Minimum 5+ years of business operations, finance, strategy or contract administration experience.
  • Strong technical and commercial skills to manage and collaborate with diverse executive and senior management stakeholders.
  • Relevant senior leadership experience with ability to effectively review and constructively challenge in a complex and ever evolving environment.
  • Experience in financial services/ superannuation/ wealth / investment industry preferred.
