The opportunity to join our team

This role is responsible for assisting the Risk Management team to create and oversee robust governance risk and compliance frameworks. This role supports the Strategy and Enterprise Services, Wrap and Superannuation business units in embedding and operating the frameworks, with a particular focus on overseeing activities relating to client complaints and remediation.  This role provides appropriate advice and support to the relevant Business Units and their first line risk teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of robust governance risk and compliance frameworks
  • Challenge and oversee the implementation of the risk and compliance frameworks, including issue and incident management, development of risk profiles and control testing, as well as risk appetite monitoring.
  • Advising the various teams in relation to the operation of the frameworks for the appropriate collection, analysis, escalation and reporting of compliance incidents & breaches.
  • Oversee the Business Units’ management of project risks in relation to initiatives being implemented which have an impact on the management of client complaints and remediation.  
  • Engage and correspond with the respective business areas on remediation initiatives, updates, tracking and reporting
  • Assist with overseeing compliance with all regulatory requirements for customer complaints and possible systemic issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of board, committee, and management forum papers to ensure effective reporting of risk to management. 
  • Work closely with the rest of the Risk Management team to ensure that we embed good governance in an effective and efficient manner.

 

What you will bring

  • Providing appropriate advice and support to the business to ensure client outcomes are being met in a compliant way and with minimal adverse impacts on the client and business.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, Law or relevant subjects (mandatory).
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in complaints management and regulatory requirements associated with complaints handling and reporting.
  • Similarly, candidates will have experience with oversight and reporting of remediation initiatives including associated regulatory requirements.
  • Proven managerial experience in risk and compliance roles in complex financial services organisations, preferably working with retail superannuation products.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and associated risks.  
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to prepare well-articulated written documents.
