The opportunity to join our team

This role supports the RSEL Boards and Chief Member Officer in the oversight and monitoring of the implementation of the Trustee’s strategy and key initiatives. This includes key product initiatives, strategic programs, and financials to support the Trustees’ strategy. This role focuses on delivering improved financial outcomes and experiences for members including strategic and product initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Trustees with the development and implementation of the Trustees’ strategy that is focused on the delivery of quality member outcomes.
  • Oversight of the development and implementation of the RSELs’ business plans consistent with the Trustees’ strategy.
  • Provide oversight and challenge to the legislated member outcomes assessments process and outputs and drive linkages back to the Trustees’ strategy and business planning cycle.
  • Provide oversight of the Trustees’ financials (fund and corporate capacity) in conjunction with the Group Finance team, and oversight of the Trustees’ expenses and costs.
  • Portfolio lead on key Trustee and product initiatives
  • (transformation initiatives including simplification and separation, retirement income strategy and obligations on financial including climate risk reporting).
  • Portfolio lead on audit, finance and people
  • Enhance operational efficiency to improve member experience and/or support the RSEL Boards to focus on strategic and matters reserved for the RSEL Boards.
  • Support the Chief Member Officer and act as a delegate, when required.

  • Strong executive communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to navigate environments undergoing significant change.
  • Strong relationship building, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in managing a team in the delivery of a range of professional services.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff with a focus on stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Minimum 5+ years of strategy and business planning experience.
  • Transformation and project management experience (preferred). 
  • Strong technical and commercial skills to manage and collaborate with diverse executive and senior management stakeholders.
  • Relevant senior leadership experience with ability to effectively review and constructively challenge in a complex and ever evolving environment.
  • Experience in financial services/ superannuation/ wealth / investment industry.
