About the Role
The Strategy Consultant supports the development and execution of enterprise and business unit strategies, enabling informed decision-making and driving innovation across the organisation. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact strategic insights through rigorous analysis, stakeholder engagement, and structured problem-solving. Leveraging strong commercial acumen and industry knowledge, the Strategy Consultant collaborates with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to shape strategic initiatives, support business planning, and contribute to transformation efforts. The role requires a blend of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication to influence outcomes and deliver value to the business. You'll bring along strong business analysis and commercial thinking, without being at the Director or Parner level. Expect to be challenged in adynamic role with the opportunity to work across business units and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Delivery
- Lead and contribute to multiple components of strategy and innovation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Deliver high-quality outputs on time, including strategic recommendations, insights, and implementation plans
- Support the annual business planning process for both enterprise-wide and business unit-specific initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Build strong working relationships at all levels to support the successful delivery of strategic projects
- Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams across IFL to drive alignment and execution
Insight Generation & Thought Leadership
- Synthesise complex data and research into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Provide thought leadership by leveraging deep knowledge of the business and financial services industry
- Develop compelling, structured presentations and reports for senior executive audiences
Analysis & Modelling
- Oversee and perform data collection and analysis to support strategic objectives
- Build and review financial models of appropriate complexity, ensuring key accounting, economic, and risk factors are accurately incorporated
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of deliverables to ensure they meet required standards
What you will bring:
We’re looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will bring:
- A relevant undergraduate degree with a focus on numerical or problem-solving disciplines
- Qualifications in Commerce, Business, Finance, or Economics are desirable but not essential
- Strong commercial acumen and business awareness
- Experience or knowledge in Australian Wealth Management, strategy, M&A, innovation, or transformation (highly advantageous)
- Proven ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex business problems
- Excellent analytical skills, including advanced quantitative analysis and financial modelling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Highly organised, with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with solid skills across other Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced financial modelling and data analytics skills (eg R, AI-based models, SQL/VBA) preferred
