Senior Transitions Analyst - Asset Management

Date:  19 Feb 2026
Location:

SYDNEY, NSW, AU, 2000

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Investment Analyst – Transition Management to play a critical role in managing complex, multi-asset class transitions within a multi-manager trust investment structure across Super and non-Super clients.

This role sits at the intersection of investment strategy, execution, and stakeholder management, partnering closely with MLC Asset Management to ensure asset management changes are implemented efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal risk, ultimately delivering better performance outcomes for members and clients.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of investment transitions, ensuring smooth delivery, strong governance, and best execution outcomes in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities & Capabilities

  • Manage end-to-end asset transition projects across multi-asset, Super and non-Super unit trust structures, following approved investment changes
  • Plan and coordinate complex transitions including manager terminations and appointments, asset movements, legacy asset migration, and internal unit trust registry changes
  • Propose and implement transition strategies, considering member impact, unit registry transactions, liquidity, market impact, buy/sell spreads, tax (CGT, stamp duty), and implicit/explicit transaction costs
  • Appoint, coordinate, and monitor external transition managers and custodians, ensuring strong risk management, governance, and execution quality
  • Act as the central point of coordination across Investment, Fund Accounting & Operations, Custody, Product, and Legal to keep timelines, pipelines, and dependencies on track
  • Provide trading and execution advice (understanding trade execution and life cycle, without executing trades) and support cost analysis and financial modelling
  • Support new business activity including RFPs, pitches, and presentations, contributing analytical insight on asset allocation and investment structures
  • Build strong relationships with senior investment professionals through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and a solutions-focused mindset

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in financial services, wealth or asset management, with strong exposure to Unit Trust structures
  • Proven understanding of asset transition management and investment implementation within complex investment structures
  • Strong risk management mindset, able to question assumptions and assess downstream impacts
  • Solid knowledge of asset movements, execution strategies, liquidity, buy/sell spreads, and market impacts
  • Understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and liquidity management, including tax considerations (e.g. CGT)
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple concurrent, project-based transitions
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with advanced Excel capability
  • Autonomous, solutions-focused professional with strong stakeholder management and communication skills

This is a flat-structured team, but with exceptional exposure to senior investment professionals, complex investment decisions, and high-impact projects across the investment function. It’s an ideal role for someone who wants breadth, depth, and visibility rather than a narrow operational pathway.
