This is a highly visible role operating in the first line of defence, where you’ll bring both strategic insight and hands-on delivery to how we identify, manage and embed people risk across the employee lifecycle.

  • Lead the P&C risk portfolio with full accountability for people-related risk management
  • Partner with the P&C Leadership Team to embed risk into strategy, planning and delivery
  • Provide forward-looking insights on emerging risks including regulatory change, workforce transformation and technology uplift
  • Align closely with enterprise risk to ensure a consistent and proactive approach
  • Deliver the P&C operational risk program, including risk profiling, control testing, incidents and audits
  • Maintain risk and issue registers, ensuring timely remediation and clear reporting
  • Design and uplift controls in line with the enterprise risk framework
  • Support business continuity and ongoing risk obligations
  • Oversee P&C policy governance and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (APRA, Fair Work, Privacy, WHS)
  • Provide clear, timely reporting to leadership and governance forums
  • Support Board, Audit and Risk Committee requirements as needed
  • Build risk capability across P&C- embedding ownership, awareness and accountability
  • Provide proactive advice on key workforce initiatives
  • Embed sound risk-thinking into transformation programs and strategic projects

What you bring

  • Proven experience in risk, compliance or governance within financial services
  • Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks and the three lines of defence model
  • Knowledge of P&C processes and regulatory environments (APRA, ASIC, Fair Work, Privacy, WHS)
  • Experience managing risk frameworks, controls, incidents and policy governance
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills-you can influence, challenge and partner at senior levels
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and execution
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity within a large, complex environment
