Senior Manager, Trustee Operational Governance & Insurance

This role sits within the Member Office, supporting the RSEL Boards and senior leadership in overseeing service providers and delivering key insurance initiatives, enabling decisions to be made in the best financial interests of members.

 

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Support Board oversight of service providers, including performance, risk exposure and strategic alignment
  • Deliver high-quality reporting and insights to the RSEL Boards, including quarterly and annual assessments
  • Identify and escalate performance issues, providing constructive challenge to service providers
  • Contribute to contract negotiations with related parties alongside Legal
  • Coordinate independent reviews and benchmarking activities across service providers
  • Support oversight of insurance-related initiatives, including transformation and regulatory change
  • Partner with the business to assess impacts of technology, data and operations on member outcomes
  • Engage and manage external advisors to ensure quality insurance advice to Trustees
  • Draft Board papers, committee materials and regulatory responses to a high standard
  • Contribute to frameworks, policies and broader Member Office priorities

 

What you bring

  • Significant experience in financial services / superannuation / wealth, with strong understanding of products, administration and insurance
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and Boards
  • Commercial acumen with experience in service provider oversight and contract management
  • Strong analytical capability, able to translate data into insight and challenge constructively
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and its impact on Trustee obligations and member outcomes
  • Proven ability to operate across complex environments, working with risk, legal, technology and business teams
  • Experience preparing high-quality Board and committee materials
  • Curiosity and a strategic mindset, with the ability to connect strategy, operations and member outcomes
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities
