The opportunity to join our team

We’re looking for a Senior Data Steward to join our brand-new Advice and Customer team and help shape the future of data governance from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to establish best practices, build frameworks from scratch, and ensure our customer data is secure, well-managed, and used effectively. Data is at the heart of our business, and this role is critical to delivering our long-term strategy. By safeguarding and governing client data, you’ll help us use it in the most effective way—enhancing decision-making and providing the best possible retirement outcomes for our clients. If you’re excited about starting fresh, setting up best practices, and making a real impact, this is your chance to be part of something big.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing customer data governance, ensuring our information is accessible, secure, and reliable
  • Acting as the “data ambassador”, bridging the gap between the data centre of excellence and the business
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams to drive data projects and best practices
  • Promoting excellence in data quality, governance, and safeguards within the Advice and Customer teams
  • Defining and maintaining consistent data standards, ensuring integrity, availability, and compliance
  • Managing data lineage, tracking its journey from source to output for transparency and accuracy

What you will bring

Your expertise in data governance and management will be key to success in this role. You’ll also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Data Governance, Information Management, or equivalent experience
  • A deep understanding of information management best practices, policies, and legislation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
  • The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Experience with Collibra, Informatica, and Google Cloud Platform (a bonus but not essential!)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
