The opportunity to join our team

This role supports the Regulatory Relations team to deliver excellence in regulatory engagement with APRA, ASIC, and the ACCC. The Manager will facilitate constructive communications and engagements with regulators in a proactive, transparent and efficient manner, and maintain engagement records. The Manager is expected to develop strong working relationships with the team, and to build and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders across the Insignia Financial Group.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Regulatory Relations Senior leaders to engage with Regulators effectively, transparently, and proactively.
  • Lodgement of Breach notifications with Regulators within prescribed timeframes, that are accurate, timely and clear.
  • Draft responses to APRA and ASIC communications where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate solid technical skills, the ability to understand new regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR), and how they should be communicated and embedded across the organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to coordinate regulatory responses and to influence internal business stakeholders when required.
  • Assist Senior leaders with Board and Committee reporting.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the regulatory correspondence register, commitments and actions register, and ensure Insignia Financial has complete and accurate records of all regulatory interactions.
  • Drive the collation of relevant data to support the team providing regulatory insights and themes which could impact or influence key stakeholders.
  • Be known as a trusted advisor and partner that business teams can consult with to respond to regulatory matters.

 

What you will bring

  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, Law, or relevant subjects (desirable).
  • Postgraduate studies in Risk, Compliance and/or Finance (well regarded).
  • A strong practical understanding of regulatory requirements of regulators including APRA, ASIC and ACCC, as they apply to a complex Australian financial service provider.
  • Experience in working in a Regulatory Relations function or similar with APRA experience essential.
  • A good understanding of Superannuation.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail in assessing and responding to regulatory correspondence, report writing, regulatory documentation.
  • Experience in working in complex businesses undergoing significant transformation and remediation.
  • Resilient, can-do mind-set with the ability to adjust and pivot working style as required within a complex changing working environment
  • Strong understanding of risk management issues, particularly in relation to superannuation.
  • Ability to present ideas, perspectives, and issues to senior stakeholders with influence.
  • Experience working with Boards and Senior Level Management Teams.
