Are you an experienced corporate affairs professional looking for your next challenge? Are you a former journalist or seasoned public relations professional with exceptional consumer media contacts? Can you work autonomously with senior executives, providing constructive strategic media relations counsel? Do you know how to make the complex simple and find stories that will resonate with consumers to drive brand awareness?

We’re one of the largest financial services organisations in the country and we have a big year of growth and change coming up and are looking for a talented Corporate Affairs Manager to help us drive brand awareness. We’re a small but mighty team and looking for someone who is creative, loves a challenge and willing to jump in and get their hands dirty during an exciting time for our business.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement corporate affairs/media relations strategies that support business objectives and drive brand awareness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial and consumer journalists, industry publications, and key media outlets
  • Proactively pitch stories that highlight the fund’s value, performance, innovation, and member outcomes
  • Craft high-quality content including media releases, op-eds, speeches, briefing documents
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, legal, product, member services, internal communications) to ensure consistent and compliant messaging
  • Monitor media coverage, regulatory developments, and industry trends to identify opportunities and manage reputational risks
  • Support issues management and crisis communications with clear, timely, and strategic messaging
  • Represent Corporate Affairs in cross-functional projects and leadership forums

 

What you will bring: 

  • 10 years’ experience in corporate affairs, public relations, or journalism ideally within financial services
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of published work or media coverage
  • Strong network of media contacts and a proven track record of successful story pitching
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse audiences
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of an organisation, including executives, CEO and Board
