This is a critical leadership role within the Member Office, supporting the RSEL Boards and Chief Member Officer to oversee service providers and deliver strategic insurance initiatives, enabling decisions to be made in the best financial interests of members.

 

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Provide strategic insights and holistic reporting to RSEL Boards on service provider performance, risk exposure and operational effectiveness
  • Lead independent assessment and oversight of material service providers, including escalation and constructive challenge where required
  • Act as portfolio lead for related party contract negotiations in partnership with Legal
  • Oversee independent reviews and benchmarking activities across service providers
  • Lead quarterly and annual service provider assessments where relevant as agreement manager
  • Drive delivery and oversight of Trustee-led insurance strategy and key initiatives
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, ensuring quality and value of insurance advice to Trustees
  • Advocate for members’ best financial interests, including identifying, managing and escalating conflicts of interest
  • Influence enterprise stakeholders to enable Trustee obligations and fiduciary responsibilities to be upheld
  • Deliver high-quality Board materials, regulatory responses and governance frameworks

 

What you bring

  • 15+ years’ experience in superannuation, wealth or financial services, with deep expertise in products, administration and insurance
  • Proven ability to operate at Board and executive level, with strong influencing and communication skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in service provider oversight and contract negotiation
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and fiduciary environment impacting Trustees
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect data, operations and member outcomes
  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence to challenge and provide independent judgement
  • Experience leading in complex, highly regulated and evolving environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and building high-performing teams
  • High levels of integrity, sound judgement and a strong commitment to member-first outcomes
