The opportunity
This is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and maintaining the Group’s Risk Management Framework. You’ll play a central role in ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory obligations while enabling the business to deliver on its strategy safely, sustainably, and with confidence. The role will report to the Chief Risk Officer for the next 12 months before transitioning to report to the General Manager, Compliance.

What you’ll be responsible for
You will own and continuously enhance the Group’s risk framework and strategy, including:
- Leading the development and Board approval of the Risk Management Strategy and Risk Appetite Statement
- Owning the Risk Management Framework, including policies, standards, and procedures
- Driving a consistent approach to risk appetite across the Group and overseeing reporting against key measures
- Providing trusted advice and guidance to the business on risk framework application
- Overseeing adherence to the framework and driving continuous improvement and embedment
- Leading key risk standards including, Model Risk, Scenario Analysis (capital, operational resilience, recovery planning) and Emerging Risk
- Facilitating scenario analysis and emerging risk forums to support forward-looking risk insights
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations (including APRA and ASIC requirements)
- Leading engagement with regulators, including responses to requests and reviews
- Reporting to Executive Risk Forums, Board Risk Committees, and Boards
- Building and leading a high-performing, engaged team
What you bring
- 10+ years’ experience in risk and compliance within complex financial services environments
- Deep understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including APRA and ASIC
- Strong expertise in risk frameworks, capital risk, and model risk governance
- Experience within superannuation or investment management (highly regarded)
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioural change
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complexity into clear insights
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching and developing others
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
- Experience navigating transformation or remediation environments
