The opportunity to join our team
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the end-to-end risk function supporting the the Enterprise Services Division, which includes Fund Accounting and Operations, Transformation, Remediation, Complaints and Administration Services.
You’ll partner with executives and senior leaders to embed the risk management framework, drive risk capability and culture and support enterprise-wide strategies. This high-impact leadership role plays a critical part in fostering a strong compliance culture and improving risk outcomes that benefit our members and important stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to influence at a strategic level across our business, partnering with other key stakeholders including ourLine 2 risk function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Enterprise Services Line 1 Risk team and contribute to broader Line 1 Risk leadership.
- Build meaningful relationships with the divisional executive and senior leadership team to drive risk capability and culture in the business.
- Develop and execute Line 1 risk strategic priorities across the division.
- Embed the IFL Risk Management Framework and deliver divisional education and awareness programs.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and maintain risk profiles for the Division and for critical operational areas.
- Identify, assess, and manage risk and compliance obligations, including effective control design.
- Implement and maintain controls assurance programs within Enterprise Services.
- Provide risk support to major programs and initiatives, including project risk assessments.
- Liaise with regulators, Member Office, and internal stakeholders to support governance and oversight.
- Prepare high-quality materials for internal and external Executive, Board, and Committee meetings.
- Support third-party risk and service provider oversight.
- Monitor regulatory responses and coordinate action plans to address gaps.
- Champion continuous improvement to systems, processes, and member outcomes..
What you will bring:
- Relevant Bachelor's degree.
- Extensive experience in a similar role with a strong risk or compliance background (10+ years).
- Deep understanding of superannuation risk and compliance frameworks.
- Deep experience in operational risks, including investments and investment operations (e.g. Unit Pricing, Custody and Investment Administration).
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing high-performing teams.
- Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior executives and boards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong program and project management skills with the ability to lead change in complex environments.
- Good commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Resilience and adaptability in fast-moving, heavily regulated environments.
