Alternatives are a key pillar of our FY30 growth strategy, and we're looking for a commercially minded product leader to help shape what comes next.

As Head of Alternatives Product, you'll lead the strategy, development, commercialisation and ongoing management of our alternatives product suite across private equity, opportunistic credit and liquid alternatives. This is a unique opportunity to build and scale a product capability that sits at the intersection of investment expertise, product innovation and distribution.

Working closely with our Investments, Distribution, Finance, Superannuation and Wealth teams, you'll be responsible for bringing high-quality alternative investment solutions to market and ensuring they continue to deliver strong commercial and member outcomes.

Unlike highly specialised institutional product roles, this position provides the opportunity to operate at scale, leveraging established retail and superannuation distribution channels and seeing products through from concept to successful market adoption.

What you'll be doing

• Define and execute the product strategy for Alternatives across wealth and superannuation channels.
• Lead product development, structuring and lifecycle management across private markets and alternative investment solutions.
• Partner with investment teams to determine how products are manufactured, structured and managed throughout their lifecycle.
• Work closely with Distribution teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies, sales enablement and commercialisation plans.
• Oversee key product considerations including allocations, liquidity management, pricing and investor suitability.
• Partner with Finance to optimise pricing strategies, profitability and product performance outcomes.
• Ensure strong governance, risk management, regulatory compliance and product oversight across the portfolio.
• Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, Boards and investment leadership teams.
• Lead and develop a high-performing specialist team.
• Drive innovation and identify future growth opportunities within Alternatives.

What you'll bring

• Extensive experience within asset management, wealth management or investment management, ideally with 10+ years in product leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, opportunistic credit and liquid alternatives.
• Proven experience in product structuring, product development and commercialisation.
• Strong technical knowledge across investment vehicles, liquidity considerations, allocations and product governance.
• Ability to translate complex investment strategies into scalable, client-focused solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience balancing client outcomes, growth objectives and P&L performance.
• Excellent understanding of risk management and governance, with a disciplined “should we?” mindset that appropriately balances opportunity, suitability and regulatory obligations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively at Executive and Board level.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline. CFA highly regarded.
