The opportunity to join our team

Reporting to the General Manager of Fund Accounting & Operations, the Head of APRA & Superannuation Reporting plays a key role in providing timely and accurate APRA reporting requirements of the Insignia Financial Super Funds, ensuring they are delivered to management and regulators within agreed timeframes and conform to best practice.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead and provide support to the Fund Accounting & Operations team to continuously improve team performance and output
  • Play a vital role regarding Insignia’s change agenda by ensuring the availability of necessary resources to meet strategic objectives.
  • Ensure alignment of performance to Insignia’s framework to drive decision-making and accountability, promoting long-term, sustainable decisions and financial performance.
  • Successfully implement change management strategies to drive efficiencies, scalability, and overall performance of Insignia. Lead change initiatives that enhance Insignia’s operations and drive its success.
  • Provide expert financial leadership to ensure Super Fund’s financial position and performance comply with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Managing the financial reporting obligation and regulatory delivery of the entities including ATO, ABS, ASIC and APRA (for financial statements)
  • Managing the financial control framework including general ledger controls and governance supporting Super Funds.
  • Managing the APRA reporting obligations and regulatory delivery of the Super Funds including co-ordination of lodgements; incident management, and communications with APRA.
  • Co-Presenting results of the products to Boards for Super Fund regulatory requirements and governance such as financial statements and policies.

 

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, CA/CPA qualification (or similar)
  • High level of understanding of accounting and tax principles affecting the wealth industry
  • High level of planning, time management, organisational skills, team development and creating a diverse and supportive culture
  • Ability to support business strategy and objectives
  • Development of automation and simplification of processes
  • High level of experience in superannuation / funds management / financial service industry
  • Excellent level of knowledge about asset management industry, superannuation industry and different securities and financial products and how they support investor goals
  • Excellent level of financial laws and procedures in order to protect the products and ensure that they are making legal and sound decisions
