The opportunity to join our team
We are seeking an experienced and influential communications leader to join the organisation as General Manager, Strategic Communications. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, and maintaining a strong advisory relationship with the CEO and Board, this role is responsible for shaping and protecting Insignia Financial’s enterprise reputation while ensuring employees are informed, aligned and confident as the organisation continues to transform. Bringing together external reputation and internal engagement, this role ensures consistency between Insignia Financial’s public positioning and the employee experience—strengthening trust, confidence and alignment across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Insignia Financial’s corporate communications, media and reputation strategy.
- Provide trusted strategic counsel to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board on reputation, narrative and communications risk.
- Oversee the Corporate Affairs function, including media engagement and executive communications support.
- Lead and manage the execution of the Media and External Communications Standard.
- Ensure strong alignment between internal employee communications and external organisational messaging.
- Lead the enterprise internal communications and employee experience strategies, establishing clear narrative direction and governance frameworks across the organisation.
- Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Executive Team on internal narrative, messaging and tone.
- Support employee trust, confidence and engagement through periods of sustained organisational change.
- Drive communication of the end-to-end employee experience, ensuring alignment with Insignia Financial’s culture, values and strategic priorities.
- Build leadership capability in storytelling and communication to drive alignment, engagement and action.
What you will bring:
- 15+ years’ experience in media relations, corporate communications and/or internal communications leadership roles within complex organisations.
- Experience operating within regulated environments where trust, accuracy and employee confidence are critical to customer and reputational outcomes.
- Demonstrated executive experience shaping enterprise employee experience narratives during periods of significant organisational transformation.
- Proven ability to integrate employee experience, internal communications and external reputation strategies.
- Strong credibility advising CEOs, Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.
- Deep expertise in reputation management, crisis response and executive communications.
- Strong enterprise leadership capability, with the ability to influence across functions and drive enterprise-wide outcomes.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A strong track record of building, leading and developing high-performing and engaged teams.
