DevOps Tech Lead

  • Build it better. Built it bold.
  • Lead the change. Leave a legacy

The opportunity to join our team

This role offers the chance to work with modern engineering tooling and real technical impact. You’ll be building and optimising CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions, while gaining deep exposure to Elastic for full-stack observability across our digital platforms.

You’ll also help shape how AI can enhance delivery pipelines, improving automation and engineering productivity in a real-world environment. Security is a key focus, with the opportunity to embed DevSecOps practices into platforms operating in a regulated financial environment.

With our platform environment continuing to evolve, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how CI/CD and infrastructure practices develop, bringing ideas, improving automation and lifting our DevOps capability. You’ll work across automation, cloud engineering, observability, security and developer experience, giving you broad technical exposure and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll lead the DevOps capability that underpins our digital platforms, with a strong focus on automation, cloud engineering and DevSecOps.

  • Act as the technical authority across DevOps, platform engineering and run operations for our digital and MarTech platforms
  • Design, build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions across front-end applications, APIs and integrations
  • Build and manage AWS cloud foundations, including infrastructure as code, networking and identity management across services like S3 and EC2
  • Embed security-by-design into pipelines through automated testing, security scanning and dependency management
  • Establish strong observability and monitoring using tools like Elastic to improve reliability, performance and visibility
  • Drive best practice across delivery squads, partnering with Architecture, Security and IT Operations to improve platform standards and automation

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, curious and proactive. Someone who enjoys improving how engineering teams build, deploy and run platforms.

  • Strong experience across DevOps, platform engineering, plus SRE or software engineering environments
  • Proven technical leadership experience influencing engineering standards and DevOps practices
  • Deep experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including infrastructure design and platform operations
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) and modern source control practices
  • Experience with resiliency including failover and redundancy strategies.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring and DevSecOps practices, including automated security testing and scanning
