The opportunity to join our team

You will join the high-performing Antares fixed income team, playing an active role in helping to manage a diverse range of portfolios. Antares Fixed Income has been managing investment solutions for clients for over 30 years and currently has around $30B in assets across a diverse range of clients. We partner closely with our clients to deliver customised fixed income solutions. As an Assistant Portfolio Manager, you will contribute to investment outcomes through market research, investment analysis and involvement in day to day portfolio management processes, including portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring and performance analysis. This role offers exposure to a wide range of fixed income strategies and an excellent opportunity to grow your career within a well respected asset management firm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • A broad role providing support to the portfolio management team with involvement across many different functions and tasks.
  • Monitor existing portfolio exposures, exposure limits, and assessing new investment opportunities by identifying strategies and securities for fixed income portfolios.
  • Conduct macroeconomic and market research plus use technical analysis and analytical tools to inform investment decisions.
  • Undertake attribution analysis of portfolio’s returns and assist in preparing investment reports for clients, including portfolio, market and economic commentary.
  • Updating and developing external presentations and marketing materials, plus involvement in presenting to current and prospective clients, research houses, asset consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction, including interest rate and credit exposure management.
  • Assist with risk management and monitoring portfolios for compliance with mandate guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving data, analytical systems and processes used for portfolio and risk management.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to support the execution of portfolio strategies, trades, and transactions to ensure efficient and accurate implementation of investment decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Antares Fixed Income team and stakeholders of the broader business.

 

What you will bring:

  • Experience as an Assistant Portfolio Manager or Senior Analyst at a bank or fixed income investment business.
  • Experience and knowledge of investment markets, fixed income, interest rate or credit securities, derivatives and structured assets (asset-backed and/or securitised product).
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and be able to pivot between tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Postgraduate financial or economic qualifications such as CFA or a Masters degree are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with portfolio construction, risk management, and investment reporting.
