Accountant - Financial Control

The opportunity to join our team

As an Accountant – Financial Control you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information for assigned legal entities, including foreign subsidiaries, and ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements for these entities. You will provide a clear and accurate picture of the financial performance of the assigned legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including general ledger completeness for assigned entities.
• Perform month-end activities, including journal preparation, uploads, and financial accuracy checks.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis, providing insights to Finance Business Partner teams.
• Support the preparation of regulatory returns, statutory financial statements, and monthly tax-effect accounting calculations.
• Drive process improvements, collaborate with auditors, and advise management on financial accounting issues and special projects.

What you will bring:

• Degree or qualification in Accounting, with CA/CPA or progress towards certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and experience with Workday preferred.
• Experience with statutory and regulatory accounting in a financial services environment, with knowledge of mandatory accounting standards and Australian taxation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and business acumen.
• Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, teamwork, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
