The opportunity to join our team
Excellent opportunity to join our Shadforth Business in the position of Insurance Specialist.
In this role you will be the technical subject matter expert on all personal and business insurance matters to all State Teams. You will work closely with our Private Wealth Advisers to advise on insurance product recommendations and coach and mentor Associate Advisers and Client Relationship Managers to identify and create insurance opportunities and increase insurance product knowledge.
The Insurance Specialist will be measured on their ability to meet the state insurance budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine and provide the most suitable recommendation based on definitions, terms available, product ratings, clients relevant personal details, and cost including comparisons on replacement advice and alternative considerations
- Attend client meetings with Advisers as an Insurance subject matter expert (SME) and educate clients on their insurance needs as part of their overall financial plan
- Liaise with both underwriting and the client to negotiate the best outcomes for our clients in the event of sub-standard terms ie. exclusion or loading
- Work with the Adviser and client in obtaining additional information that could lead to a better underwriting outcome
- Review advice with PWA in the event of revised terms to consider the appropriateness of the advice
- Work with the Private Wealth Adviser to identify new business opportunities
- Coaching and training advice teams (SATs) to develop capability, and identify and create insurance advice opportunities
- Increase the overall risk footprint amongst advice teams
- Possess and maintain a high-level industry and technical knowledge. Provide updates to legislation and product changes to wider advice team
What you will bring:
- High level of Technical knowledge in personal and business risk
- Intermediate level knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Xplan
- Ability to build relationships at all levels and gain trust quickly
- Solid influencing skills with a real passion for risk and business development
- Post -graduate financial planning qualifications, specialising in Risk Insurances
