Join Insignia Financial as an Associate Cyber Security Engineer and begin building your career within a collaborative and experienced Cyber Security Engineering team. This permanent, full-time opportunity will provide hands-on exposure to a broad range of security technologies, including endpoint protection, network segmentation, intrusion detection and prevention, data loss prevention and cloud security solutions. You will support the deployment, administration and optimisation of security systems that protect our critical technology environment and data. Working alongside cyber security specialists, you will contribute to incident triage, threat detection, troubleshooting and the ongoing improvement of security services. Based in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth this role offers valuable learning opportunities and cross-functional exposure across Cyber Resilience, Governance and Strategy, and Cyber Data and Analytics.
Salary: $85,000 inclusive of 12.5% super
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monitoring, administration and ongoing operation of cyber security systems and platforms.
- Assist with the identification and initial triage of incidents affecting security infrastructure and services.
- Collaborate with the Cyber Resilience team to support the effective ingestion of security telemetry into the Security Operations Centre.
- Help identify and escalate telemetry ingestion or integration issues that may affect security monitoring and threat detection.
- Assist with troubleshooting security issues, identifying root causes and documenting resolutions for future reference.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation covering security systems, processes and operating procedures.
- Participate in learning, formal training and knowledge-sharing opportunities to develop your cyber security engineering capability
What you will bring:
- A passion for cyber and an eagerness to get hands-on with tools and systems
- Some foundational knowledge in networking, operating systems, or IT troubleshooting
- An analytical mindset — someone who spots issues and wants to get to the root cause
- Confidence to ask questions, work through challenges, and grow with feedback
- Bonus points if you’ve dabbled in home labs, online courses, or self-led projects
- You’ll be based in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth embedded in a supportive team with direct 1:1 mentoring from your manager. You’ll have access to tool-specific training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and a growing engineering community that values curiosity and continuous learning.
