This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end risk function for the Enterprise Services Division (Fund Accounting and Operations, Remediation, Complaints,), supporting leaders to uplift risk maturity and support the implementation of risk management strategies. The role is instrumental in delivering a sound risk and compliance culture, and stronger risk outcomes for Enterprise Services. This will support members and procure greater confidence from regulators. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess and manage risks and obligations faced by the Enterprise Services business, ensuring there are effective controls and mitigants in place to meet address these. This includes raising concerns related to non-compliance, poor risk behaviours as well as identify areas for improvement and maturity.
  • Together with the team, provide central co-ordination of delivery of Enterprise Services risk and compliance obligations and reporting.  Working with the Enterprise Services Leaders to ensure that they understand and deliver on expectations of all risk functions.
  • Participate in the 1st line risk forum and support the team to understand, refresh and manage risks.
  • Working with 2nd line Risk, Internal audit, MO, and ORE at a strategic level to ensure alignment of maturity of risk capability and priority areas are being addressed to satisfaction.
  • Support the preparation of business material and pre-reading files for Executive meetings internally (e.g. Boards and Committees) and externally (strategic partnerships, alliances etc)
  • Lead Enterprise Services 1st line risk & compliance
  • Develop or coordinate Action Plans, responses to regulators and monitoring deliverables.

 

What you will bring

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree and post-graduate tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years in similar role
  • Deep knowledge of operational risk and compliance principles and frameworks 
  • Strong program management skills and commercial acumen
  • Ability to navigate environments undergoing significant change
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with proven ability to work with senior executives
  • Good understanding of Financial operational risks including Unit Pricing and Investment Administration practices in the wealth industry.
