The Role

This role is responsible for managing transitions of investment assets in a multi manager trust investment structure for both internal stakeholders and institutional client. This position provides advice and assistance to MLC Asset Management on all matters related to investment implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and model investment strategy changes and develop an effective transition management plan minimising risk and transaction costs.
  • Project manage the restructure of investment strategies; coordinate the on boarding and redemption of wholesale client assets; manage the movement of assets onto and around the investment structure.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders and monitor the execution of planned tasks to ensure a smooth delivery of transition objectives and an error-free outcome.
  • Proactive identification of potential problems that may occur during the transition and development of solutions to address them.
  • Ensure risks are managed efficiently and compliance obligations are met.
  • Monitor execution quality of third party appointed transition managers.
  • Provide assistance with due diligence work to assist with the selection of transition managers.

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services / wealth management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to apply disciplined analysis to portfolio/investment structure changes to support effective decision making.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment structures, cash management, the roles and responsibilities of market participants and the general investment process.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills. Demonstrated authority and influence. The ability to tailor communications to suit the audience and communicate credibly and confidently. Generate interest in, and understanding of, complex areas through open, honest and persuasive communication.
  • Strong Excel skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to apply project management principles while working to deadlines.
  • Effective time management, both personally and from a project stakeholder perspective.
  • Knowledge of investment (physical and derivative) markets and the application of trading and settlement processes / restrictions.
  • Experience in Asset Transition Management is highly desirable
