As we continue to enhance our data governance practices, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Data Governance & Information Management to lead the charge. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and elevate the governance of our most valuable asset – data – and ensure the organisation’s adherence to regulatory requirements, policies, and industry standards.

- Shape Data Governance Strategy: Lead the data governance and information management function, ensuring our data practices meet legal, regulatory, and business needs.
- Collaborative Impact: Work closely with senior leaders across the organisation, including Risk, Legal, Cyber, and Infrastructure, to foster a culture of data compliance and integrity.
- Leadership Role: Manage a high-performing team of data governance specialists and stewards while directly influencing the future of data policy at board level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and evolve Insignia Financial’s data governance framework, ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations, while providing guidance on the application of these standards across the organisation.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate data governance policies, frameworks, and guidelines that safeguard data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Grow and lead a community of Data Stewards across the business, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for data governance and quality.
- Work with key business units, such as Risk, Legal, and Cybersecurity, to align on data governance practices, mitigate risks, and uplift the data culture across the organisation.
- Represent the data governance function to the business and board, ensuring effective communication of data policies and risks in a clear and engaging manner.
- Lead and mentor a team of data governance specialists and stewards (8-10 direct reports), providing strategic direction and professional development opportunities.
What You Bring to This Role:
We’re seeking a leader with a solid combination of technical expertise, with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Strong experience in data governance, risk management, or data-related roles, with a track record of successfully leading teams and influencing senior leaders.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, and Master Data Management (MDM), with a strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the business, from data teams to the board.
- Strategic Mindset: A strong ability to think strategically while being hands-on in day-to-day operations, balancing long-term governance frameworks with short-term data needs.
