We have an exciting opportunity for a Data QA & Release Manager to join our Data Engineering team! As we launch our new unified data platform on Google Cloud, leveraging BigQuery and laying the groundwork for future machine learning and AI innovations, this role will play a crucial part in managing and enhancing our testing and release practices. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, building and optimizing solutions that support diverse teams across the business and impact the financial well-being of approximately 2 million Australians.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Data QA & Release Manager Role Include:

  • Lead an “automation first” approach to engineering quality into all stages of feature/story delivery within the Data Engineering team.
  • Advise on the most effective design and implementation of automated testing solutions for data applications.
  • Execute testing strategies and maintain automated test suites to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by applying innovative, automated solutions to testing requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in test and automation tools and apply them effectively to Data Engineering projects.
  • Manage multiple releases across development, test, and production environments.
  • Coordinate parallel releases and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Build Verification Testing (BVT) in production.

 

What You Bring to This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data QA & Release Manager with a strong technical background and understanding of release management.

 

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be experienced in designing and implementing test automation frameworks or leading testing efforts in a highly automated environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Tosca Data Integrity (DI) for data testing.
  • Have a solid understanding of testing in a data-centric environment and project management experience in handling release processes.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understand CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
