Team Lead Systems Engineer – Windows & O365

Technology I Infrastructure Services

Step into a newly created leadership role where you'll shape a high-performing engineering team, influence critical infrastructure services and remain hands-on with technology.

At Insignia Financial, technology plays a vital role in supporting our people, clients and business. As we continue to evolve and invest in our technology landscape, we're creating a new leadership opportunity within our Infrastructure team.

This role is perfect for an experienced Systems Engineer who's ready to take the next step into people leadership while staying connected to the technical work they enjoy. You'll lead a team of engineers, drive operational excellence across our Windows and Microsoft 365 environments, and help build the capability, engagement and performance of a highly skilled team.

The opportunity to join our team

You'll join our Infrastructure team and take ownership of both people leadership and operational delivery across our Windows and Microsoft 365 environments. Leading a team of up to 10 engineers and contractors, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our platforms remain secure, stable and continually improving. You'll work closely with technical specialists, contribute to infrastructure projects, oversee service delivery performance and provide coaching and guidance that helps the team succeed. This is a genuine leadership opportunity that offers the best of both worlds – the ability to lead people while remaining actively involved in technical decision-making and delivery.

What you will be doing

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of Infrastructure Engineers to foster a high-performing and engaged culture
  • Overseeing ServiceNow queues, ticket management, escalations and SLA performance across the team
  • Driving operational excellence across Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Managing vulnerability remediation, alert monitoring and platform health activities
  • Supporting Active Directory, Exchange, Entra ID and core infrastructure services
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives, automation opportunities and operational uplift activities
  • Contributing to infrastructure projects, planning activities and technical solution design
  • Managing the team's on-call capability and ensuring effective support coverage

What you will bring

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Entra ID and broader infrastructure technologies
  • Experience within service delivery environments, including incident, ticket and SLA management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative leadership style and genuine passion for helping others succeed
  • The ability to balance technical delivery, operational oversight and people leadership responsibilities
