The opportunity to join our team
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Client Services function within MLC Asset Management. As the Manager, Client Services, you will oversee the Client Services team and ensure the delivery of an exceptional experience to our diverse investor base and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in managing operational and client onboarding activities, driving process improvements and supporting transformation initiatives. Working closely with internal partners, financial advisers, service providers and institutional clients, you will contribute to the smooth and professional delivery of client service outcomes. This role is ideal for someone with deep industry experience who enjoys leadership, operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Melbourne Client Services team in managing client queries, requests, operational workflows and investor onboarding
- Oversee AML/KYC onboarding processes and manage regulatory requirements across service providers, direct investors, private equity clients, high-net-worth clients, financial advisers, and internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and contribute to building a high-performing team
- Lead and support transformation and change initiatives within the Client Services function
- Manage relationships across MLC Asset Management, boutique fund managers and wholesale/institutional accounts
- Partner closely with service providers including Registry, Custodians and the Prime Broker
- Manage and report complaints through MLC Resolve
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented, up to date and consistently followed
- Support the implementation of regulatory and legislative changes impacting the team
- Foster team development, capability uplift and a high-performance culture
What you will bring:
- Proven experience in the Finance or Asset Management industry
- Client service experience supporting high-profile accounts (highly regarded)
- AML experience within investment management or financial services (preferred)
- Strong operational background in Fund Operations, Registry and Client Servicing
- Experience working with a Custodian or Fund Administrator
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and leadership capabilities
- Excellent time management, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical reasoning and ability to assess varied information
- Project management capability across routine tasks and continuous improvement initiatives
