MELBOURNE, VIC, AU, 3008 SYDNEY, NSW, AU, 2000

Employment Type:  Max Term Full Time
  • 12-month maximum-term opportunity
  • Hybrid working – minimum 2 days/week in office
  • Shape websites, digital tools, calculators and search experiences

Join a major digital transformation focused on improving the tools, calculators, search experiences and web platforms used by our customers. As Lead Technical Business Analyst, you will lead discovery and analysis across multiple initiatives, guide the work of other BAs and translate complex customer and business needs into digital solutions that engineering teams can deliver.

The opportunity to join our team
We’re looking for a Lead Technical Business Analyst who can bridge the gap between business and technology, set the standard for analysis across the program and lift the capability of the BAs around them.
This role sits within our Customer Technology team, working closely with Product, Engineering and Design to shape customer-facing websites, digital tools, calculators, forms and search experiences.
If you’re a senior practitioner who can bring structure to ambiguity, connect strategy to delivery, and keep every team anchored to the customer, this could be a great fit.

  • You will lead discovery and analysis across complex digital initiatives, setting the approach and guiding quality from early problem definition through to delivery.
  • Lead the analysis effort across multiple workstreams, coordinating and guiding other BAs to deliver consistent, high-quality discovery and requirements outcomes
  • Shape the discovery approach and analysis planning across new product launches and web/platform rebuilds
  • Own end-to-end traceability from strategy and objectives through to requirements, solution design and delivery
  • Guide integration, data and migration analysis, including source-to-target mapping, APIs and cutover requirements
  • Coach and mentor other Business Analysts, and embed BA standards, templates and quality gates
  • Partner with Product Owners, Delivery Managers and Engineering squads to design and deliver solutions
  • Facilitate high-stakes workshops that drive clarity, alignment and decisions
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influence key decisions
  • Manage dependencies and delivery risk across squads and domains to keep the program moving

What You Bring to This Role

In this role you will be a senior BA practitioner who is equally comfortable influencing stakeholders, coaching BAs and partnering with technical delivery teams. Additional key areas of experience include:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst, including accountability for analysis across complex, multi-stream digital or enterprise technology programs
  • A track record of coaching or mentoring other BAs and lifting team capability
  • Proven experience shaping solutions for new digital products, services and web/platform rebuilds
  • Deep expertise in requirements elicitation, process mapping, solution shaping and end-to-end traceability
  • Confidence with data and integration analysis, including mapping, APIs and migration or cutover requirements
  • Outstanding senior stakeholder management: you can challenge, influence and align at pace
  • Strong Agile, DevOps and SDLC experience
  • Curiosity, strong judgement and the confidence to challenge assumptions and guide teams through ambiguity

Nice to have (but not a dealbreaker):

  • Exposure to financial services, wealth or superannuation, and regulated, disclosure-driven change
  • Understanding of Java-based application delivery, cloud environments such as AWS or GCP, and data integration pipelines
  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager or a comparable enterprise experience platform; exposure to enterprise or AI-enabled search would also be highly regarded
