About the Role

As General Manager, Employer Superannuation, you will lead a strategically important growth portfolio focused on building MLC’s position across medium to large employers. With accountability for growth, retention and segment strategy, you will strengthen key corporate relationships, expand our presence in competitive opportunities and shift our market approach toward deeper, partnership-led engagement.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity with the mandate to shape the future of our employer superannuation franchise. Backed by executive support and investment, you will help sharpen our segment strategy, evolve our client and service model, and build a differentiated proposition that supports sustainable growth and stronger employer and member outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and lead the enterprise strategy for employer growth and retention, with end-to-end accountability for net flow performance across Super Platinum, Corporate and SME segments.
  • Accelerate growth within key employer segments, including deepening share of wallet in priority Top 50 relationships and expanding MLC’s presence across Corporate Australia and the SME market.
  • Shape and execute segment-led go-to-market strategies that strengthen market positioning, unlock new revenue opportunities and deliver differentiated employer and member outcomes.
  • Lead enterprise-wide client and partner strategies across employers, intermediaries and ecosystem partners, including HRIS, payroll and platform providers, to create scalable distribution pathways.
  • Drive strategic client engagement and retention initiatives that deepen executive relationships, improve client value realisation and reduce concentration risk across the portfolio.
  • Partner across Product, Marketing, Sales, Relationship Management and Operations to deliver integrated propositions, campaigns and service models aligned to segment needs and growth priorities.
  • Sponsor innovation in digital distribution, onboarding and service experience, enabling scalable acquisition, improved conversion and a more efficient cost-to-serve.
  • Identify and develop new growth levers through market insight, partnership opportunities, proposition development and evolving distribution models.
  • Provide visible enterprise leadership across the employer business, building organisational capability, aligning teams to strategic priorities and fostering a high-performance, client-led culture.
  • Ensure strong commercial, risk and governance discipline, embedding first-line accountability, sustainable growth practices and compliance with regulatory and governance expectations.

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, economics, marketing, law, financial planning or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Significant senior executive leadership experience in financial services, with accountability for growth, strategy, client outcomes and commercial performance.
  • Deep experience leading large, complex portfolios or business segments, with a track record of delivering sustainable growth, retention and transformation outcomes.
  • Proven ability to shape and execute enterprise-wide strategies, translating vision into clear priorities, strong execution and measurable business results.
  • Demonstrated success building strategic partnerships, developing new growth opportunities and expanding market presence across complex customer or distribution environments.
  • Strong change leadership capability, including sponsoring large-scale transformation, digital innovation or operating model change that improves customer and business outcomes.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the ability to build credibility and alignment across executive leaders, boards, partners and external stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute and strategically minded, with strong judgement, decision-making capability and the ability to balance growth, risk and long-term sustainability.
  • Proven people leadership capability, including leading high-performing teams, building organisational capability and fostering accountability in complex environments.
  • A sound understanding of the regulatory environment relevant to superannuation and employer-led growth channels.
