We’re seeking a Data Platform Engineer on our journey to build modern, scalable data platforms that empower analytics, insights and better business outcomes across the enterprise. Within our Data Engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our cloud-based data ecosystem, ensuring trusted and high-quality data is available for business and analytical consumption. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to data pipeline development, platform operations, data modelling and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges while working with modern technologies across Google Cloud Platform and DevOps toolsets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the operation, maintenance and optimisation of modern data platforms, data pipelines, data lakes and data warehouses.
• Analyse source systems and contribute to data mapping, modelling and transformation activities that ensure high-quality enterprise data assets.
• Develop and maintain batch data pipelines and workflows, implementing business rules and transformation logic in line with engineering standards.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using technologies such as GCP, Docker and Terraform.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify data definitions and support data-driven outcomes.
• Support governance, security, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation and data lineage.

What you will bring:

• 3+ years' experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, supported by a tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with experience building scalable, production-grade data solutions.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing concepts and large-scale batch or streaming data processing.
• Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Terraform (or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools) and automated testing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, combined with a collaborative mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
