Automation Tester - two roles available!
MELBOURNE, VIC, AU, 3008 SYDNEY, NSW, AU, 2000
The opportunity to join our team
We currently have two 12-month full-time contracts available to join the Customer Tools & Integrations squad within Advice and Customer, working across technology that supports public websites, customer tools, calculators and integrations.
These two roles will focus on uplifting automation testing across multiple areas, helping to establish a more supportive and scalable testing model across the full testing pyramid, use TypeScript and Playwright to improve coverage, and explore how AI can enhance both manual and automated testing.
You will work closely with the squad to deliver reliable, customer-focused technology and improve how the team builds, tests and operates software.
- Design, write and report on unit, integration and end-to-end automated tests with strong code coverage.
- Use TypeScript and Playwright to test modern web applications, with scope to explore Playwright MCP and supporting libraries.
- Turn acceptance criteria into effective test coverage across the Definition of Done and software quality standards.
- Conduct manual regression testing where required throughout release cycles.
- Explore additional automation approaches including performance, load, saturation, visual regression, accessibility and Lighthouse testing.
- Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and advise where and when different tests should run.
- Use AI to improve testing practices, including spec creation and appropriate AI-assisted manual testing.
- Respond to production incidents and defects, updating tests to reduce repeat issues.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, the Tech Lead, Product Owner and stakeholders to uplift testing capability across the squad.
These roles are based in Sydney or Melbourne. The team works in a hybrid model with a minimum of two office days each week, including Tuesday as the team anchor day.
