MELBOURNE, VIC, AU, 3008 SYDNEY, NSW, AU, 2000

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time
  • Opportunity to execute scaled intelligent automation, then extend into AI use cases.
  • Turn real business problems into practical automation and AI solutions.
  • Help build an AI‑led culture that improves the cost and access to advice.

The opportunity to join our team

We are at the beginning of a meaningful shift to become an AI-led business. With governance now in place and strong executive support, this role plays a key part in turning curiosity and intent into real, working solutions. In this role you will help shape how intelligent automation is applied across financial advice, improving efficiency, lowering the cost of advice, and ultimately making advice more accessible to more Australians.

This is an opportunity to do practical, high impact work. Starting with intelligent automation and evolving into AI driven solutions as use cases emerge, you will help the business discover where AI genuinely adds value, not where it is used for novelty.

Initially, the focus will be on intelligent automation along with process optimisation, using enterprise grade low code platforms. Over time, you will help identify and shape AI opportunities, contributing to the design and delivery of solutions such as AI assisted testing, decision support, RAG based applications, and emerging AI agent use cases.

What you will do

Working closely with advice SMEs, product teams, and enterprise AI partners, you will play a hands-on role in shaping and delivering automation and AI solutions that address real business problems. You will:

  • Design, build, and support intelligent automation solutions across advice processes
  • Work with stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, define problems, and package them into clear intelligent automation or AI initiatives
  • Develop and enhance intelligent automation using platforms such as Automation Anywhere and Power Automate
  • Contribute to AI use cases as they emerge, including prompt engineering, RAG solutions, AI assisted testing, and AI agents
  • Prototype and test AI ideas to validate feasibility, value, and risk before scale
  • Collaborate with enterprise AI teams to leverage shared platforms, models, and governance
  • Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, ethical, and compliance standards
  • Document solutions and share knowledge to help uplift AI capability and thinking across the business

What You Bring to This Role

We are looking for someone grounded in automation, with genuine curiosity and momentum toward AI. You will bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or intelligent automation roles.
  • Experience working across enterprise automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based AI services (Azure, AWS, GCP) for deploying AI solutions.
  • Hands on experience developing AI applications including the use of open and closed source AI model hosting, training, prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and vector database development.
  • Strong proficiency in languages such as Java (including Kotlin), JavaScript and Python.
  • Expertise in relational databases (MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) and Vector enabled databases (Elastic Search, VectorPG).
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in agile, iterative environments.
  • Must have active Power Automate RPA Developer Associate (Exam PL-500) and/or Azure AI Engineer Associate certification.
  • Ideally a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, AI).

Experience in financial services or advice technology is beneficial, but not essential if you are motivated to learn quickly.
